Bumbling "Put Up" Time
Posted by: Carol Platt Liebau at 5:02 PM
In the wake of Tuesday's elections, it's never been more clear that "put up or shut up" time is rapidly approaching for the President.  The Right, of course, is opposed to him.  And now, even some of the Left is getting sick of his all-celebrity, no-leadership model of governing.

It seems to me that if the President were half as smart as we've been told he is, he'd realize that he needs to step up.  And if he were half as unflappable as we've been told he is, he wouldn't be doing stuff like this in the wake of the election: That's right, he's complaining again about the "mess" he inheirited from the Bush administration

So you've got a delusional Speaker of the House, trying harder than ever to ram through a massively unpopular monstrosity of a health care bill, even though disgruntled voters list health care low on their list of concerns.  You've got an electorally embattled Senate majority leader delaying bringing any bill to the Senate floor.

So there would seem to be plenty for the President to do, besides whine about the troubles he inheirited.  More than ever, he should be projecting calmness, capability and the ability to engage in meaningful action.  Instead, more than ever, he's contributing to the sense that he's not quite up to the job that he won with so little experience.

Two governors, Carol?
that was supposed to prove what? Those same states, in 2001, shortly after 9/11, both threw out GOP governors for Dem ones.

What are you going to do when the healthcare bill passes? Opt out? I hope so. You'll still have to pay your taxes just as I pay for public schools when my kids no longer attend.

Ding!
Better Stop dreaming of the quiet life cos it's the one we'll never know
And quit running for that runaway bus cos those rosey days are few
And stop apologising for the things you never done
Time is short and life is cruel
but it's up to us to change this town called malice.

Rows and rows of disused milkers that will die in the dairy yard
And a hundred lonely housewives clutch empty milk bottles to their hearts
Hanging out their old love letters on the line to dry
It's enough to make you stop believing when tears come fast and furious
In a town called malice, yeah

Struggle after struggle, year after year
The atmosphere's a fine blend of ice
I'm almost stone cold dead in a town called malice
Ooh yeah

A whole streets belief in Sunday's roast beef
Gets dashed against the Co-Op
To either cut down on beer or the kids new gear
It's a big decision in a town called malice
Ooh yeah

Ghost of a steam train echoes down my track
Its at the moment bound for nowhere just going round and round,Ohh
Playground kids and creaking swings, lost laughter in the breeze
I could go on for hours and I probably will but,
I'd sooner put some joy back in this town called malice.
Yeah

oh boo hoo
seem old CPL is back to her usual tricks of prevarication and victimhood as in her eyes Bush is still "lord and master" never to be subject to fair critique but If she thinks Obama blaming Bush is tiresome just wait until the unhinged "tea-party set" start question his true conservative status-eventually labeling him a RINO and then do the unthinkable-question his effectiveness! That's going to be a sad day for some and its coming right around the corner.

The one thing we learned from the elections is that when People have the choice between a reasonable democrat and a far right conservative-the conservative does not always win-in fact he lost so case closed on that old theory.

But as the 21rst century rolls on so doth the bitterness of miss lie bou's near endless bile.

Obama's An Incompetent Fool,,,,,
The only word that I read that was true in this article was devastate.Obama and the democrats with their socialist policies wrecked an already bad economy and destroyed any chance of small business to create jobs because the 787billion dollar stimu-less money went to unions, welfare and food stamps.

This administration and the democrats blew it by not taking care of the economy and not giving small business tax breaks needed to start creating jobs.Instead they took the 458billion dollar deficit that took Bush 8yrs to run up and turned it into a 1.46trillion dollar deficit in nine months.

The healthcare bill being proposed by Obama and the democrats is a multi trillion dollar debacle that's designed to kill the Free America we all grew up in.

Agreed.
"No there there" with this individual.

Today's comments by Mr. Obama re the AMA and AARP came off a bit as hard edged from him. As if he's defensive about the health care bill(s) and not quite able to grasp why everything isn't going swimmingly.

Mr. Obama will leave office as the least qualifed occupant in history for the position and as a result the most failed Presidency.

Academia will welcome him.

overpushed military, guns, blood, reactionaries. All the hate you spew about your country, your president, simply because you disagree with him and the majority who voted for him and for the Dem Congress.

carol,

do not you recall from the radical's handbook that a primary tactic for the radical (and i am paraphrasing) is to keep the populace unsure by constantly shifting ground.

BO is not stupid. everything he does is pre-planned.

it is very hard for people to get upset when they do not know which direction BO is coming from and what ground he is standing on.

research NPD.

Sorry Carol.....don't wait for.....
.....him to "step up." There's no step up in him.

We've seen all he has......this is it.

When the rest of America realizes what they've elected, I hope they're so embarrassed they never vote again. Only people who know how to think should vote.

The wimpering of the leftist trolls
over the emptiness of their Supreme Leader is truly pathetic. Obama had one thing to do: win the election for POTUS. Having done that, there is nothing more to expect from him. His prête à porter presidential suit is far too large for him and no amount of skilled tailoring can make it fit and drape on this meager leadership frame. Obama is better suited to sweatshirts and sneakers and even then he looks overdressed.

i forgot who nailed him
but one of us called him "thin shouldered". I think that describes him and most liberal males.

..."a reasonable democrat ...?

Funny you say that. BHO pretended to be a Centrist. And while many of us knew better, he managed to dupe the middle ground into believing he was reasonable. When will he assume that roll? My guess is when he has no choice in 2010.

Mrs Reid once was a moderate, then she turned.

Princess P...well thats just a bacteria infested mind (think botox).

Maybe you can give an example of a reasonable Dem in charge? It would seem that the moderates and bluedogs are lowmen on the totem pole.

A 'sense' that he's not up to it?
Uh, let's not quibble. He's not up to it. Never was up to it. Is completely unworthy to be President. Hell, he wouldn't cut it as a dog catcher.

Obama The Incompetent Coward,,,,,
Obama's a snake in the grass and his handlers are idiots.Obama and his Blago generated idiot minions blame Bush for everything because they don't have a clue what to do.The economy is in the crapper and it's going to stay in the crapper because of Ben"braindead"Bernanke and Timothy"tax cheat"Geitner.

These guys were kept in their jobs because they're supposed to be the best this country has to offer. That's BS.Bernanke was the fed chair for four years before the crash.Geitner was the NY fed chair for three of those years. And lets not forget dear Hank Paulson who was instrumental in a 12billion dollar payoff to a firm he ran for seven years. Where was all this brain power for those years? We all know where the money went.Wall St.,Unions,Fiat and foreign Banks.Nothing for the working folks.

All this brain power should have drained into prison.
